President William Ruto refuted Rigathi Gachagua's claims that the National Intelligence Service (NIS) did not properly inform him about the intensity of the anti-Finance Bill protests.

During a presidential round table with journalists at the State House on Sunday, June 30, President Ruto stated that the NIS had indeed informed them of the situation's severity.

He mentioned that the government received intelligence indicating that criminals planned to exploit the protests to break into parliament and destroy property.

"We had information, and that is why we prepared in the manner that we did, If we had not prepared, we would be having more than 19 people who died," he said.
