A woman and two men were left for dead after being attacked by an angry mob in Cheptalal, Konoin, Bomet county.
Police officials from Cheptalal Sub County rescued the suspects after an hour of beating. According to witnesses at the scene, the suspects are accused of robbing residents in the area.
Johnstone Koech, the head of the Cheptalal area, acknowledged the incident.
The chief said: "I was alerted to a case of mob justice involving suspected thieves near Mach filling petrol station along Cheptalal-Koiwa road, and that the suspects were accused of stealing or swapping money from a business man in the area."

Police officials from the Cheptalal police station were notified, and when they arrived, they were able to rescue two male suspects, known only as Samuel and Kelvin, from the mob. To disperse the crowd, the police fired into the air.
The suspects were driving a black Mazda CX5. The crowd severely wrecked the automobile. Two more suspects, Isaac and a woman named Hilda, were detained in connection with the suspected deception.
Suspects who were injured were brought to the Mogogosiek Hospital Health Centre for treatment. The damaged car was transported to the Konoin police station yard, where many suspects were detained.
Police have initiated an inquiry into the event.
