Kennedy Onyango, a 12-year-old child who was shot during anti-government rallies in Rongai, is yet to be buried as his family negotiates the burial location.
A procession to bury Kennedy at his mother Jacinta Anyango's house on July 6 in Rusinga was hijacked by his father Denis Okinyi, who was armed with a court order.
Okinyi wanted to halt Kennedy's burial until a judge determined where the kid should be buried on June 17.

On Wednesday, the court requested that the two parents pursue conversation as an alternate conflict resolution procedure because it was a family concern.
However, Homa Bay resident magistrate Beatrice Toroitich suggested that the mediation start next week since a mediator who could have handed over the matter is unwell.
Toroitich said the court would assign an arbitrator to listen to the aggrieved families and negotiate a truce.
The case is up for mentioning on July 25, 2024.
