Influencer and businessperson Murugi Munyi recently recounted her experience of mistakenly sending 100k to a stranger because she was sleepy during the transaction.

Murugi started by issuing a cautionary warning, emphasizing that conducting financial transactions while sleepy or under the influence of drugs can lead to financial difficulties.

"Never send money when you are sleepy; first take a nap, then do the transaction," she advised.

She recalled how the mishap unfolded when she suddenly remembered a bill she needed to pay and decided to handle it right away. After entering the details into her money transfer app, she accidentally mistyped her number by just one digit and did not verify the details.

This mistake occurred because she habitually did not confirm her transactions once sent. A few minutes later, upon receiving a notification, she grew suspicious and quickly checked, only to discover that a random man had received the 100k she had intended to send.

Realizing the error, Murugi Munyi experienced anxiety attacks as she tried to contact her mobile money transfer company, hoping for a reversal.

At one moment, she contemplated the possibility that she might have inadvertently changed someone's fate. Despite it being a Sunday, the company successfully retrieved her funds, although it took more than two hours.
