The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has announced the candidates shortlisted for the positions of Deputy Inspector General for the Kenya Police Service (DIG-KPS) and the Administration Police Service (DIG-APS).

Peter Leley, the CEO of NPSC, revealed that the following candidates have been shortlisted for DIG-KPS: George Adero Sedah, Eliud Kipkoech Lagat, Tom Mboya Odero, and Dr. Vincent Kinas Makokha. For the position of DIG-APS, the shortlisted candidates are Gilbert Masengeli, Margaret Nyambura Karanja, James Mukuha Kamau, and Dr. Masoud Mwinyi.


Interviews for these candidates are scheduled for Monday, July 22, 2024, starting at 9:30 am. The interviews will be held at the Kenya School of Government, Lowe Kabete Campus in Nairobi. Candidates for DIG-KPS will face the panel first, from 9:30 am to 12:15 pm, followed by candidates for DIG-APS from 2:00 pm to 4:15 pm.

A total of 38 individuals applied in response to the NPSC's advertisement for these positions. Among them, 21 applied for DIG-KPS and 13 for DIG-APS. Several applicants did not specify the position they applied for: Paul Omondi Okinyi, Brian Wekesa Wanyonyi, Abdirashid Bilali, and Nicholas Mwiti.


The NPSC encourages members of the public to submit any relevant information regarding the candidates through written memoranda to the Commission’s chairperson or online by the following Monday.
