German police apprehended an American man suspected of stalking Taylor Swift and issuing threats against her and her partner via social media as he attempted to attend the pop star's concert in Gelsenkirchen, a city in western Germany, on Thursday.
Authorities stated that the 34-year-old, who possessed a valid ticket, was identified and taken into custody at the entry checkpoint of the venue just before Wednesday's concert. Initial investigations indicated a potential threat posed by the individual, prompting his detention.
According to police, the man had previously made threatening remarks online directed at Swift and her partner, Taylor Kelce. However, they emphasized that neither the singer nor any concert attendees were ever in imminent danger.
A court subsequently ordered that the man remain in custody until Saturday.
