The body of a 35-year-old man identified as Joseph Kirui was found floating in River Tuiyobei after he drowned in it in Kericho County.
Confirming the incident, Ainamoi Assistant Chief David Cheruiyot said Kirui’s body was found some 50 meters away from where he drowned.
He revealed that a villager had found clothes by the river bank and had grown suspicious since no one was in sight.
“A resident who had gone to take a bath in the river found the body downstream and reported the matter,” Cheruiyot said.
The body was moved to Kericho County Referral Hospital mortuary by officers from Ainamoi police station.
