Activist Hanifa Adan, a prominent Gen Z voice at the forefront of the protests, has commented on the anticipated Nane Nane March. She posted on her X timeline, expressing her hope that her fellow Gen Z protestors return home safely. Hanifa emphasized that Gen Z has the right to participate in the demonstrations as they seek accountability.

"As we go to the streets again to ask for accountability and excise our constitutional rights, may each and everyone of us be protected and return home in one piece," she write on X.

In another post on her X handle on Tuesday, Hanifa Adan shared photos of her protest gear, rallying her fellow Gen Z to attend the demonstrations.



A local publication reports that on Thursday morning, police were seen setting up roadblocks on major roads leading to the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD). This move aims to address threats from protesters who might occupy various installations in the country.

It is also reported that anti-riot police were deployed to patrol major roads around State House, where the swearing-in of newly appointed cabinet secretaries is set to take place on Thursday morning. Additionally, state lodges across the country have been placed under tight security to prevent any breaches or occupations by angry protesters.

Gen Z protesters are demanding various government reforms, including tackling corruption, addressing joblessness, and taking action against police officers who brutalized protesters in past demonstrations.
