A family is mourning the death of a 35-year-old father and his 4-year-old son, who tragically lost their lives in a Russian air strike near Kyiv, Ukraine, on sunday.
The overnight attack, which also injured three others, including a teenage boy, took place just east of the capital. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy revealed that a North Korean-made missile was used in the assault, although he did not provide further specifics.
Earlier reports from Ukrainian emergency services indicated that the victims' home in the Brovary district was hit by debris from a downed Russian missile.

Footage shared by Ukraine's State Emergency Service showed rescue workers sifting through debris in the dark and retrieving the body of the young child. Zelenskiy condemned the attack on X, labeling it as a "deliberate terrorist strike" by Russia, and noted that experts are still analyzing the missile involved.
The overnight assault also involved 57 Iranian-made drones launched across Ukraine, with Kyiv's air force successfully intercepting and destroying 53 of them. The military also reported that Russia fired four North Korean-made KN-23 missiles, though the status of the other three remains unclear.
President Zelenskiy renewed his call for Ukraine's allies to provide "a full-fledged air shield" and to authorize strikes deep within Russia using Western-supplied weapons. Moscow has yet to respond to these accusations.
Still, it has consistently denied targeting civilians despite ongoing attacks on critical infrastructure throughout its invasion, which has now entered its 29th month, causing thousands of deaths and displacing millions of Ukrainians.
