Morara Kebaso has recently gained significant attention after he decided his mission is to hold President Ruto accountable in development matters.
Kebaso has been traveling across Kenya, exposing what he claims are failures or delays in numerous projects launched by the president.
One of his notable critiques focused on the Metembe-Marani-Kegogi-Nyaore Road project in Kisii County. Initially inaugurated by President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2016, the road was re-launched by President Ruto during his recent tour of the Gusii region. Kebaso has questioned the effectiveness of Ruto’s administration, arguing that the road has either stalled or never commenced.
State House Spokesperson Husein Mohamed responded, clarifying that the project had faced delays due to contractor issues. According to Mohamed, the initial contract was terminated in May 2023 due to poor performance, with only 27 kilometers completed. The project was re-tendered in March 2024, and work resumed in June 2024, with Ruto’s re-launch marking the official start of the renewed contract.

Despite Mohamed’s explanation, Kenyans remain skeptical. A resident, @Rockefeller, confirmed that the images were outdated and did not reflect the current state of the road.
Mohamed defended the re-launch, stating that such events are often ceremonial and may occur after starting work. Ongoing regional projects like the Kegogi-Sombogo-Marani-Ititi road show progress, but questions linger about their timely completion.
While some roads, like the Kegogi-Nyakoora-Rioma road, have been completed during Ruto's tenure, others remain stalled or incomplete, reflecting ongoing concerns about the effectiveness of recent development initiatives.
