Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is set to assume leadership of the Azimio La Umoja Coalition following the departure of co-principal Raila Odinga, who recently launched his campaign for the African Union Commission's (AUC) chairmanship.
Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa confirmed that Kalonzo, the coalition's second-most senior politician, would naturally take over, ensuring there would be no leadership vacuum within Azimio.
Wamalwa emphasized that the coalition remains strong and urged those supporting the Kenyan constitution to join them in their efforts. Kalonzo, while supporting Raila's AUC bid, intentionally skipped the launch event at State House to reinforce his position as the official opposition leader.
