The Ministry of Health has reported a third confirmed case of Mpox in Kenya. A 30-year-old woman in Nairobi has tested positive for the disease, with health officials noting that she recently traveled to Uganda.
The patient is in stable condition and receiving treatment in an isolation unit within the capital.
This latest case increases the number of confirmed Mpox cases in Kenya to three, following earlier reports in Taita Taveta and Busia counties.

The Ministry of Health has tested 89 samples, with 79 returning negative results and seven still pending analysis.
Dr. Patrick Amoth, the Director General for Health, emphasized that the Ministry is closely monitoring the situation and has intensified measures to curb the spread of the disease. Active surveillance efforts include extensive screening of travelers at designated Ports of Entry, with over 582,000 individuals screened to date.
The Ministry reassured the public that Kenya's healthcare system is fully equipped to handle the situation. Dr. Amoth indicated that the Ministry is committed to protecting the health of citizens and will continue to implement comprehensive response measures to manage Mpox effectively.
The public has been urged to remain calm as health facilities are prepared to diagnose and treat the disease.
