Kenya Power has announced that electricity has been restored to most areas across the country following a widespread blackout on Friday night. In their latest update, the utility company confirmed that power has been fully restored in the Western Region, as well as parts of Central Rift, South Nyanza, and Nairobi.

The areas now back on supply include Nakuru, Kericho, Bomet, Naivasha, Nyandarua, Kisii, Migori, Nyamira, Homa Bay, Machakos, Athi River, and parts of Kiambu County.

"In Nairobi, power has also been restored in the Central Business District, Westlands, and the Industrial Area," Kenya Power stated.

Efforts to restore power to the remaining affected areas are ongoing. Earlier, Kenya Power had reported that power outages had affected various parts of the country, excluding the North Rift and some sections of the Western region.
