Cristiano Ronaldo reached another historic milestone by scoring the 900th goal of his illustrious career, helping Portugal secure a 2-1 victory over Croatia in their UEFA Nations League opener on Thursday in Lisbon.
The 39-year-old forward netted his record-breaking goal in the 34th minute at Estadio da Luz, connecting with a cross from Nuno Mendes. Ronaldo celebrated with passion as this goal marked his 131st for Portugal.
Throughout his career, he has scored most of his goals with Real Madrid, followed by Manchester United, Sporting Lisbon, and his current team, Al-Nassr.
Portugal initially took the lead through Diogo Dalot, but a Dalot own-goal just before halftime reduced their advantage.
