Three people died on Friday morning in a grisly road accident involving two vehicles that collided in Kericho County.
According to police, a Mercedes-Benz trailer Reg. 675V/SSD669AA ferrying LPG gas and a Nissan Double Cabin Reg. No. GKB 450D collided head-on while traveling in opposite directions at around 6 a.m.
The collision resulted in the immediate deaths of the Nissan's three occupants, a woman and two men.
The trailer's driver survived and was rushed to Fortenan Sub-county Hospital for treatment.
The bodies of the deceased persons have since been moved to St. Vincent Hospital Mortuary Muhoroni for storage pending identification and postmortem.

This comes a few days after nine people died in a road accident following a collision between a personal vehicle and a matatu at Kipsitet in Kericho County.
According to police, the accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. when the driver of a Mercedes Benz lost control of the vehicle in the Kisumu Ndogo area and collided with the public service vehicle.
Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of the matatu died on the spot.
“As a result of the impact, 9 passengers(, 4 female and 5 male) died on the spot,” read a police report.
Both vehicles were extensively damaged as a result of the crash.
The bodies of the victims have been removed to St.Vincent Mission Hospital morgue in Muhoroni, awaiting identification and postmortem.
The vehicles have been towed to Kipsitet police station to await inspection.
