A 12-year-old boy stabbed six fellow students at a school in Azambuja, located 50 kilometers (31 miles) north of Lisbon, Portugal, on Tuesday.
Rescue services reported that six children were injured, with one 12-year-old girl suffering severe wounds to her chest and head.
The other victims, aged between 12 and 14, were also treated for injuries. Authorities have detained the alleged attacker, and police are investigating to uncover the motive behind the incident.

Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro condemned the stabbing, describing it as an "isolated act" and calling for reflection on public safety.
