A 9-year-old child died after drowning in a fish pond in Machakos County.

Police stated the crime occurred in Mamba A village, Ndalani, Yatta Constituency.
The Grade Four student allegedly obtained keys to the gated fish pond without his parents' knowledge

According to Area Chief Cosmas Kaloki, residents retrieved the body in the Mamba Sub Location.
The body has been transported to Mbaku Funeral Home in Matuu.

Police said that investigations are underway.
