Kakamega Homeboyz FC management says the club has already identified a new head coach who will join them in the next few days.

This is following the dismissal of Coach Ken Kenyatta.

"We will be announcing Ken Kenyatta's replacement who will take over before the end of the week, already we have identified an experienced coach and it's just a matter of time before we unveil him," the club's chairman Cleophas Shimanyula said.

Former Kenya Police and Dodoma Jiji Coach Francis Barasa will likely take over from Kenyatta.

Different online sports platforms have reported speculation about Barasa heading to Kakamega.

Kenyatta was fired due to a string of poor performances in the Kenya Premier League after just five matches in which he was in charge.

Shimanyula at the same time, alleged that Coach Kenyatta did not bond well with the players.

"It’s true we have parted ways with Kenyatta because the Club has not been performing according to our expectations, also his relationship with some players was not good," said Shimanyula.

Kenyatta joined Kakamega Homeboyz early this season, guiding the team in five league matches before he was dismissed.
