Detectives in Kilimani, Nairobi, have arrested a woman suspected to be part of a network targeting revelers in the city's nightlife scene.
The suspect, Consolata Nyangai, was apprehended after an extensive investigation following an incident reported on November 9 by a Chadian national.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the victim alleged that he lost a significant sum of money and personal belongings after an encounter with the suspect.
The foreign national reported that he had visited famous clubs, such as Gemini and Quiver Lounge, before returning to his residence at Spring Gardens Apartments, where Nyangai accompanied him.

It is believed that the victim was drugged during the night, enabling the suspect to steal $4,000 (equivalent to Ksh 519,000), Ksh 10,000 in cash, a Samsung S20 smartphone, and a Corn C105 phone.
A coordinated manhunt led detectives to the Hunters area in Kasarani, where Nyangai was arrested. The stolen phones, which the victim positively identified, were recovered at the scene.
Authorities also found high-value electronics, including a newly purchased 75-inch Samsung TV worth Ksh 107,000 and a Ramtons cooker valued at Ksh 55,000. Both items are believed to have been acquired using proceeds from the crime.
In addition to the stolen property, investigators discovered two national identity cards bearing Nyangai's image but under different names—one Kenyan and one Ugandan. This has raised questions about her true identity, which is currently under investigation.
The suspect is being held at Kilimani Police Station and is set to appear in court on Monday, November 18. The DCI has confirmed that further investigations are underway to establish her identity and connections to similar crimes in the city.
