Key contenders include Director-General for Health Dr. Patrick Amoth, former KMPDU Secretary-General Dr. Ouma Oluga, ex-Chief Administrative Secretary David Osiany, and former nominated MP Wilson Sossion.

Other notable candidates are Anne Makori, former IPOA chairperson; Micah Powon, ex-PS for the State Department of Arid and Semi-Arid Lands Development; and Dr. Macharia Irungu, former Kenya Pipeline Company Managing Director.

The shortlist also features Dr. Naim Bilal, former Managing Director of KBC; Ambassador Galma Boru; Prof. Shaukat Abdulrazak, ex-CEO of the Kenya National Commission for Science, Technology, and Innovation; and Prof. Loice Maru from Bomet University.

Additionally, Abdirashid Salat Abdille, previously a member of the Tailoring and Garment Manufacturing Trades Wages Council, and Dr. Erneo Nyakiba, a board member at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, have been shortlisted.

Public Service Commission (PSC) Chairperson Anthony Muchiri explained that these vacancies arose from recent executive-level reassignments, prompting a flood of applications.
The PSC will conduct interviews with the shortlisted candidates on a date yet to be announced.

Afterward, the names of successful candidates will be submitted to President William Ruto for formal appointment.

Meanwhile, the public is invited to provide any relevant information about the shortlisted individuals through affidavits. Submissions can be sent to the Secretary/CEO, Public Service Commission, or emailed to [email protected] by January 24, 2025.
