The Talanta Hela Council's Creatives Technical Committee, which Ababu Namwamba founded, Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports, and the Arts, has filed a petition in court asking for its dissolution.
Charles Mugane claims that the committee that comedian Daniel (Churchill) Ndambuki runs is unconstitutional and that individuals appointed to the committees were chosen with scant regard for "the principle of meritocracy" in the lawsuit he filed on Tuesday with Mugane Advocates.
He continued by saying that because the appointments were made at the expense of the limited public funds, they violated the Kenyan people's public trust.
The petitioner further claims that the appointments were made in violation of Article 10 of the Constitution, which outlines the national values and governing principles, including accountability, transparency, and good governance.

According to him, the selection procedure was shoddy and clearly showed abuse of power.
Part of the petition noted that "clearly no selection procedure has been provided" on how the eleven were chosen from among the large population of eight million Kenyans using the TikTok site, which is where the appointees appeared were chosen.
"Our client will not tolerate your acts above, which are a flagrant contempt for the law."
Thus, Mugane required that he be given proof of public involvement in the council's and the committee's creation.
Additionally, he requests the provision of the council and committee budgets and a statement of expenditures outlining the costs incurred and spent.
He also wants to know where the group gets its financing from and what criteria are applied when making nominations.
Until it is addressed, he requests that the committee be terminated within the next 48 hours; else, he will sue the Sports CS.
CS Namwamba established the committee on February 11; the members are to serve for three years.
Dennis Itumbi, a digital strategist, was named to the Talanta Hela Council board, which is presided over by the CS. Other members are Kizito Wangalwa, David Langat, Debra Mallowah, Abraham Kipyego Mutai, Charles Gacheru, Claudia Naisabwa Leshomoo, Nobert Ouma, and June Chepkemei.
On the other hand, the Creative Technical Committee constitutes Akinyi Odongo, Jimmi Gathu, Catherine Kamau, Esther 'Akothee' Akoth, Kizito Makhande, TikToker Azziad Nasenya, Rosemary Wahu Kagwi, Awadhi Salim Awadhi, Douglas Kipkirui, Langat Susan Ekasiba, chaired by comedian Daniel 'Churchill' Ndambuki.
The Sports Technical Committee is a different committee under the Talanta Hela Council, and its members are Carol Radul, Boniface Ambani, Julius Kiplagat Yego, Neddy Kutsuru, Alfred Makotsi, Sammy Tiyoi Shollei, Collins Kale, Kevin Mutai, Shilovelo Winna Shilavula, Daniel Nakeor Losiru, and Staicy Shariffa Ochieng.
