Banisa Constituency Member of Parliament(MP) Kullow Maalim Hassan has passed away.
The family confirmed that he died on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at Agha Khan hospital.
Kullow succumbed to injuries from a motorcycle hit and run in Nairobi's South C area.
Eldas MP Adan Keynan remembered Kullow as a devoted public servant who discharged his duties with honour.
"It is with great sorrow and profound sadness that I learn of the unfortunate demise of my friend and colleague, Banisa MP, Hon. Kullow Maalim Hassan, who passed away at Agha Khan Hospital."
"I share my deepest condolences with the family, friends and people of Banisa following this unfortunate loss and pray that Allah (SWT) will grant them sabr and comfort during this lowest moment. May Allah grant his soul Jannatul Firdaws. Amiin Amiin," he said in a tribute.
Keynan praised Kullow as a remarkable leader whose revolutionary style will live on in history.
Banisa, who resides in Mandera County, won the election on the UDM ticket.
Kullow was in his second term as a lawmaker and had been initially elected to the parliament in 2017.
