On Thursday, March 30, a dashboard camera captured the final moments before the gruesome Pwani University bus accident near Kayole in Naivasha, Nakuru County, which claimed 14 lives.
In a video obtained by Kenyans.co.ke, two matatus are seen en route to Naivasha before making way for oncoming traffic, which includes a private vehicle and a speeding Pwani bus.

The bus was in the middle of the road, taking up both lanes and nearly colliding with an oncoming private vehicle. The impact and speed of the bus caused the private car and matatus to come to a halt.
Kenyans online had mixed reactions to the video, with the majority wondering why the driver with the dashcam didn't swerve when he approached the bus.
"This driver with the dashcam makes no attempt to swerve, most likely because he has the right of way. This is one cause of accidents "Levi Kones hinted.
"The guy was speeding, and when he realized his brakes were failing, he tried to avoid hitting the car in front," Kiprono Brian explained.
"That Pwani bus driver appears to know what was going to happen; surely the act caused all vehicles to stop," Dominic Ekamais observed.
"The students left school this morning and were involved in an accident when they arrived in Naivasha. We have requested that our chief security officer, who was in Nairobi on official business, go there and provide us with additional information so that we can inform the public. We are in Kilifi, relying on information provided by others "According to Kahindi.
