Raila, leader of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition, says the opposition's planned anti-government protests will go on as scheduled despite them not having a permit to do so

Odinga stated on Sunday that the opposition is peacefully exercising its constitutional right to assemble, hold demonstrations and present petitions to public authorities.

The opposition leader declared that on Tuesday, they would bring petitions to four government agencies to pressure President William Ruto's administration to listen to their demands.

Odinga, who has refused to accept Dr Ruto's defeat in the August 2022 presidential election, has stated that they will petition the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to verify their assertion that the election results were tampered with to demand an audit of the electoral servers.

Raila stated that they would also petition the IEBC over the four commissioners' dismissal because it establishes a dangerous precedent in which all commissioners in future elections will be expected to agree with the IEBC chairperson, thereby making the election a one-person show.

He further stated that they would present a petition to the President's Office proving that the cost of food, fuel, electricity, and fees continues to be unacceptably high.

He said they would continue to press OP to stop attacking and destroying competing political parties, as was tried on Jubilee headquarters and through the auction of MPs in Parliament.

According to Odinga, they will also go to the National Treasury to request the quick release of all cash owed to counties and timely payment of all civil officials' salaries.

According to the statement, they intend to visit the Public Service Commission on that day to demand that appointments to public offices be made only on merit and inclusivity rather than tribe, as is currently the case. They cannot have a country with nearly 50 tribes where appointments are limited to members of one tribe.
