The West Pokot County Government caught robbers who stole money from the Kapenguria County referral hospital. West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin stated that some individuals have been stealing money from the County hospital's patient payment system.
"We have people who have been conspiring to steal money from the hospital every day." "They are our sons, but they will set an example for others," he remarked.
He went on to say that after stealing the money, they erased the data with the assistance of an Information Technology (IT) specialist.
The Governor promised to punish those responsible for misappropriating monies in public health facilities.

Speaking at the inauguration of West Pokot County Facility Improvement Fund board members on Tuesday, Kachapin stated that his administration envisions a healthcare system that prioritizes prevention, early intervention, and holistic care to improve healthcare outcomes and enhance community well-being.
He stated that the new board members would oversee and direct healthcare programs at the county's referral and sub-county hospitals.
The County Executive remarked that the board members' skills, experience, and passion for the industry would indeed play an essential part in moulding the county's healthcare system's future.
He asked them to work closely with the health department and other stakeholders to advance healthcare reforms.
The governor stated that his administration is committed to ensuring that the sick are treated with dignity and are not denied services or referred to private institutions for diagnosis when services are accessible in public hospitals.
He urged health staff to avoid disputes and unhealthy competitiveness to serve residents better. He stated that the health sector was vital and delicate and should be empowered.
Clair Parklea, a West Pokot County Health and sanitation executive, stated that the newly appointed members would be trained. Parklea also urged all residents and medical personnel to utilize medications responsibly.
