Ten police officers were detained when the thieves they detained admitted that the cash they claimed to have recovered did not even represent half of what they had actually stolen.

Reports claim that after temporarily knocking a Burundian national out at a forex office in the Makindye district, the criminals grabbed $110,000 and £700 from him.

The man was helped to regain consciousness by good samaritans, and one of them is claimed to have informed a police informant about the incident.

However, it is claimed that the criminal intelligence officers did not alert their supervisors of the occurrence and instead headed off alone to find the thieves.

The robbers were allegedly apprehended in the Masajja neighborhood by the police officers at a station in Kampala, Uganda, who only reported finding $20,000 and €500.

The captured and imprisoned suspects exposed the cops' cover, claiming that they had only declared a portion of the items they had seized from their hiding place.
