The struggles in the former ruling party keep getting messier. Former Ndaragwa Member of Parliament Jeremiah Kioni has attacked his East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) rival Kanini Kega over a Jubilee Party expulsion statement.

Kioni and Kega are currently locked in a war for the leadership of the Jubilee Party, with each claiming to be the party's rightful Secretary General.

Addressing the press with Vice Chairman David Murathe and the party's National Treasurer Kagwe Gichohi on Friday, Kioni dismissed Kega's views accusing him of betraying his party's leader, former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kioni appeared to sneer at Kega, stating that Uhuru supported his (Kega's) 2022 political campaign and nominated him to EALA. However, he has abandoned the former Head of State and is ungratefully mocking him over the party's leadership.

"Can you imagine people banding together and summoning the former President to a disciplinary committee?" "The person who nominated you for EALA, Parliament, and even funded your campaigns when you ran for MP," Kioni explained.

The ex-Ndaragwa MP also warned the Jubilee group led by Kega against illegally leaving the party without public consultation.

He challenged any elected MPs considering joining President William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza to return to the polls on other party tickets instead.

"If you want to leave your party, not just Jubilee but also ODM, Wiper, and the rest, and think it's greener within Kenya Kwanza, go back to the people and have a by-election done; don't be the con of the people we've seen," he urged.

Kega announced the expulsion of Kioni and Murathe on Friday, citing egregious misbehaviour, inability to respect party organs, and reluctance to perform party tasks.

As a result, he dismissed Uhuru's planned National Delegates Congress (NDC) gathering on Monday, saying.
