Busia Governor Paul Otuoma has offered to intervene between Siaya Governor James Orengo and his Deputy William Oduol in their continuing feud.
Governor Otuoma said on Tuesday during a food distribution exercise for flood victims in Alego Usonga that he will engage the two leaders in reconciliatory talks to simplify the county executive and focus on service delivery.
The flood was triggered by the collapse of Lake Kanyaboli's barriers around two weeks ago. The water rushed onto farms and people's homes in the constituencies of Alego-Usonga and Budalang'i.
"These are my friends, and everyone has a role to play, but you can't be deputy governor and want to be governor." "These stunts we're seeing, where people insult each other in public, are not a good sight to see," he stated at a function attended by Raila Odinga.

Governor Otuoma issued another caution to Oduol, encouraging him to focus on his duties as deputy governor to avoid a schism in the county's administration.
Governor Orengo and his deputy have been at odds for numerous reasons, including suspicions of corruption and favouritism, and the impasse has culminated in a petition signed by three activists.
Meanwhile, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has recommended Oduol retire, allowing Orengo to appoint a new deputy.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, ODM Secretary for Political Affairs Opiyo Wandayi stated that this is due to conflict between the two leaders in recent weeks, culminating in the violent disruption of a recent funeral they attended.
