Azimio la Umoja coalition leader Raila Odinga says he would release a thorough statement on Thursday of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition's stance on the disputed Finance Bill, 2023.

"On the Finance Bill issue, we as Azimio will give a detailed statement on Thursday to tell Kenyans why we oppose it and what they should do if it is brought before parliament," Odinga added.
The Kenya Kwanza government proposes a 16% VAT on fuel and a housing fund, among other fees, in the Finance Bill 2023 as they seek to raise more money to fund projects locally instead of borrowing.

Odinga called politicians who support the bill "enemies of the country" on Monday, warning Kenyans to pay attention to anyone who does not oppose it.
"There have been threats, but our MPs have been told to oppose them vehemently." "We want Kenyans to keep a close eye on whoever supports that bill because doing so is betraying Kenyans," said Raila.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has maintained that the bill will pass and that all mps who oppose it will not have roads built in their areas. He added that the legislation helps the government to raise funds for running the country.
