The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is taking disciplinary action against 28 members for disobeying the party's stance on the Finance Bill 2023, which was introduced for discussion in Parliament on Wednesday.
ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna added that the party had since sent show-cause letters to the 28 members who either supported the bill or were not present while it was being voted on.
The Party's general membership has lodged several grievances about the behaviour of its National Assembly members during yesterday's vote on the Finance Bill, 2023.
Notices to show cause as to why disciplinary action should not be taken have been issued to the aforementioned members following the Party's disciplinary guidelines. Within the following 48 hours, they are anticipated to respond, the statement says.
