To reduce accidents, the government will move all roadside markets, according to Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen.
County governments and the federal government, according to Murkomen, would offer venues for the markets.
He claimed that the marketplaces would be close to the highway.
"We'll clear the roadside of all markets. He said that to give people selling goods to travellers the chance to do so, the County and National governments will set up markets next to the route.
"As a ministry, we are prepared to set up access roads so that the markets can be relocated and vehicles traveling to make purchases along the highway can enter and exit."

When Kenyans were requested to leave the roadway, he pleaded with them to comply.
About 55 individuals lost their lives in the Londiani disaster, and the CS who visited the scene on Saturday stated investigations would be carried out to determine what caused the accident.
Murkomen claimed that the Londiani tragedy was a catastrophe that could not have been as severe if the markets had been closer to the road.
"We cannot have that many people working right adjacent to heavily used roadways. In the event that there are court orders, I will need your help," he remarked.
The CS stated that the government would also assist the accident victims' relatives.
