Kitui Central MP Makali Mulu has rebuked Deputy President Gachagua for remarks he made during a burial ceremony in Machakos.
MP Mulu stated that it was unfair for a national leader to condemn a community solely for their political views rather than mourning with the family of one of the region's leaders.
DP Gachagua made the remarks at the funeral of the late Anne Musau, the mother of Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka (Kawaya). He claimed that Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka might be manipulated for political gain while failing to enjoy the anticipated benefits for his political stronghold.

Mulu stated on a citizen tv show that the leaders had chosen to put aside their political differences and sympathize with their colleagues and that any visiting leaders would do the same.
The politician argued that no community should be insulted because of their political ideas and that instead, the government should convince more individuals to join their political party.
He emphasized that the equal allocation of resources in the country is not political and that all regions should receive a fair share.
During the funeral, DP Gachagua alleged that opposition leader Raila Odinga had ignored his Azimio coalition co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka, only for him to subsequently become the Azimio coalition delegation leader at the bipartisan discussions.
Gachagua, speaking in Kalonzo's political heartland of Ukambani, alleges that the Wiper Party leader will be left out in the cold with nothing to help his political garden, just as he was following the 2018 handshake.
“These talks being led by Kalonzo, there is nothing to wait from there. 2018 Raila aliendea handshake na Uhuru, hakuambia Kalonzo…hakuenda nayeye. Akaenda akatengeneza deal yake na Uhuru wakamalizana." said the DP
Deputy president Rigathi added that Azimio leader took all the projects to his people, leaving kalonzo and his people out to dry
