Opposition Leader Raila Odinga has promised Kajiado residents that he will use his influence on Transport Cabinet Secretary(CS) Kipchumba Murkomen to rehabilitate key roads in the County.
Speaking to a congregation on Sunday, after having an experience of the roads, he said that he will capitalize on his ties with the government to ensure they are repaired.
“Today I came and met poor roads. I drove through very bad roads looking like that going to God. You know in the Bible, bad roads lead to God and good one’s head to the Devil,” he said.
“I remember when I was Roads Minister, Saitoti asked me to build your roads and I did it. Now the person who is in that office, is my student in politics, I am going to Nairobi to ask Murkomen to build these roads.”
Odinga's comments, considered an implicit endorsement of Ruto's administration, come just as Azimio has agreed to negotiate with the government side to satisfy its demands.

After agreeing to participate in a Joint Bipartisan Dialogue Committee established to mediate the political crisis between the opposition and the government, Azimio halted anti-government demonstrations that resulted in violent riots in several areas of Nairobi.
The committee has petitioned the Houses of Parliament to be officially constituted, and its co-chairs are former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka (Azimio) and the majority leader of the National Assembly, Kimani Ichung'wah.
