According to rumors in Spanish media on Monday, Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior would be sidelined for up to six weeks due to a hamstring injury.
The Brazilian's injury was confirmed by Los Blancos in a statement, although they did not mention how long he would be out.
Vinicius left the game against Celta Vigo on Friday's 1-0 victory at Balaidos due to an injury, keeping Madrid atop La Liga with a perfect record after three games.
The 23-year-old is scheduled to miss crucial La Liga matches against Real Sociedad and city rival Atletico Madrid prior to the start of the Champions League on September 19.

"(Vinicius) wanted to continue, so I don't think it was that serious, he tried, then it hurt a bit," Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said on Friday after learning that the injury was more serious than initially believed.
According to Spanish reports, the forward might be out for a month to six weeks, missing up to five games—four in Spain's top division and one in Europe.
