A woman in Murang'a will undergo her third corrective surgery after doctors left a surgical needle in her birth canal during childbirth.

Everline Wairimu told NTV how her delivery at Kirwara Level 5 Hospital went wrong, leaving her in great pain and sorrow.

 She alleged medics informed her that a surgical needle had broken while they were suturing her. Attempts to locate the shattered needle component were unsuccessful.

"Nilipata delivery ya mtoto vizuri, lakini nikishonwa nikaambiwa sindano ya daktari imekatika, Akaniambia ajaribu kuguza guza mahali alikuwa anashona nimwambie kama naiskia,"Wairimu told NTV

Wairimu claims that lying down or walking has become a daily nightmare with searing pain since the tragedy.

After her suffering worsened, she went to a different hospital last Thursday. After an X-ray revealed the needle, she returned to Kirwara Hospital, where doctors reported they couldn't find the needle piece despite their best attempts.

Wairimu is now being treated at the Maragua Hospital. The Muranga County Health Department has announced that it is investigating this alleged medical malpractice case.

In other news, A 21-year-old guy was caught by police in Konoin sub-county, Bomet County, after attempting to burn down his mother's house.

Nicholas Langat was apprehended on Wednesday evening after he set fire to clothes in his mother's bedroom and a section of the house and threatened to set fire to the entire house.

According to villagers who witnessed the incident and spoke to Wananchi Reporting, the man went on a rampage after his mother's requests to sell a plot of property and rent some tea bushes were denied.
