Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has explained why he avoids eating white flesh delicacies like chicken, fish, pig, and mutton.
Museveni, notorious for his unconventional ideas, believes that his distaste for chicken stems from the unstable people consuming the birds' meat.
Although the Ugandan President did not go into specifics, he urged his citizens to respect the views of every individual.

“Pig is haram, fish is haram…I don’t eat chicken because when you eat chicken you become unstable. Chicken is a bird. I don’t eat mutton, I don’t eat all those things and so my list of haram is much longer,” he said.
“The difference with us here, with the people of this area, is that whatever beliefs I have, I don’t interfere with my neighbor if he has a different belief,” he added.
Museveni admonished Ugandans not to infringe on or try to control the beliefs of others, citing local populations that avoid eating chicken meat while still growing the birds.
“For instance, although Banyankole were not eating chicken, they were keeping chicken for traditional religious ceremonies. But when your Muganda friend came, they were eating chicken so [they would tell them] you take this chicken and eat it,” he stated.
“This is our culture, you live and let live; you have your own way, but I don’t interfere with your way of life, you don’t interfere with my way of life.”
