The Limuru III summit convention, spearheaded by opposition Mt. Kenya leaders including Martha Karua and Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, has resulted in several deliberations that could soon influence the political landscape. One resolution was that the immediate former President Uhuru Kenyatta will continue to be recognized as the Mt. Kenya Kingpin until he decides to pass on the mantle.

Other resolutions included urging Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to seek reconciliation with former President Uhuru Kenyatta as the community strives for unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting was predominantly attended by politicians aligned with Azimio La Umoja, although a few UDA politicians such as Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba were also present. Summit leaders, including Embakasi West MP Mark Mwenje, extended their apologies to the Mt. Kenya region for the challenges faced under the current administration.

The history of the Limuru III convention dates back to 2002 when the first summit was organized by the late Njenga Karume, with the main resolution being the unity of the GEMA community. In March 2012, the Limuru II meeting was convened to support the presidential candidacy of then-aspiring President Uhuru Kenyatta.
