National team Junior Stars head coach Salim Babu has backed side to go all the way in this year’s CECAFA U-18 Championships being held in Kisumu and Kakamega counties.

Babu is upbeat about their chances when they take on Tanzania in the second semi-final this afternoon at the Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground in Kisumu in the 2.00 p.m. kick-off fixture.

"We have prepared the boys very well because from the beginning, we let them know that our goal is to reach the final and win the competition.
"So, every player in the squad has that in their mind, they all want to win this competition. We don't care about injuries or opponents; whoever we are to face we face them with respect and seriousness. We have to reach the finals," assured Babu.

Babu is optimistic about their chances as they face Tanzania in the second semi-final this afternoon at the Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground in Kisumu, with the kick-off scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

"We are expecting very good competition. On our side, we are very confident that we are going to win that game.
"Of course, there is a lot of pressure from the fans, especially on us who are at home so it's a must that we have to do our best. We are equally prepared for the task and look to improve on our record," assured the captain.
In the other semi-final, group B's top seed, Uganda, will face Rwanda at the same ground in a match scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m.
