Messi was instrumental in Argentina winning their first World Cup victory in 36 years, defeating reigning champions France in the final last December.

When he left Paris St. Germain earlier this year, the 36-year-old had no shortage of offers, but he chose to sign with Major League Soccer's Inter Miami over a big-money move to Saudi side Al-Hilal.
Messi immediately impacted Miami, scoring ten goals in seven League Cup matches to help the club win the event, including MLS teams and Mexican teams.
The Argentine's presence in the United States has caused a surge in searches for match dates and tickets to witness him in action, with supporters quickly snapping his official pink Inter Miami shirt.
According to research firm Antenna, ticket prices for Inter Miami games have risen, while Apple TV, which has a 10-year deal with the MLS, has seen a huge increase in subscriptions.
"Messi managed to do what once seemed impossible: turning the U.S. into a football country," the newspaper reported.
