Police officers in Lamu have launched an investigation after the body of a 48-year-old man was found dumped outside his house.
According to a police report, Muthemi Funga was abducted in the presence of his wife and children on Tuesday, November 5, in the Poromoko Area of Lamu County.
This caused his wife to report the kidnapping to officials at Kibaoni Police Station, who conducted a search and eventually located Muthemi's lifeless body near Jima forest.
Lamu County Commissioner Luis Rono confirmed the occurrence and underlined that it was a criminal issue unrelated to terrorism.

''This is not a terror-related crime, and we are completely dedicated to bringing the offenders to justice and restoring the impacted community's sense of security,'' Rono said.
The commissioner stated that investigations into the matter were underway and that the perpetrators of the crime would be brought to justice.
