The Kenya Communications Authority has advertised the position of Director-General, formerly held by Ezra Chiloba, who resigned a week ago.

Chiloba resigned from the role on Wednesday, October 18, bringing his two-year career at the authority to an end.

The Communications Authority encouraged qualified applicants to submit their applications by 5 p.m. on Friday, November 17, in a notice published in local dailies.

According to the advertisement, applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree in one of the following fields: Telecommunications, information technology, applied and physical sciences, humanities, and social sciences are all examples of disciplines. Business-related subjects or an equivalent qualification are preferred.

To be considered for the position, one must also be adept in computer applications and meet the standards of Chapter Six of the Constitution on Integrity.

In terms of work experience, applicants must have at least ten (10) years of relevant work experience, with at least five (5) years in senior management.

Ezra Chiloba has resigned from the Director General of Communications Authority barely a month after being suspended on graft allegations.

According to a press release by the Board on Thursday, Chiloba resigned on Wednesday, October 18, in a letter to the board's chairperson, Mary Mungai.

'On behalf of the Authority, I wish the outgoing Director General luck in his future undertakings and value his invaluable contribution to the organisation and the broader ICT sector,' said the Authority. Remarked the Chairperson of the CA Board.

Chiloba had not worked for the agency since September 18, when an internal audit purportedly found significant losses in the CA plan during his tenure.
