The Chinese Embassy in Kenya has declared that kenyans will no longer be required to make visa appointments as of November 20, 2023.

Kenyans can apply for visas online and submit them to Nairobi's Chinese Visa Application Service Centre.

According to the embassy, the measure is intended to streamline the visa process for smoother exchanges between the two countries.

The embassy emphasized the importance of precise form completion in a notification dated Monday, November 13, and advised applicants to submit their visa applications immediately to the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Nairobi during regular working hours.

Additionally, applicants who have previously scheduled online appointments will be given preference if they produce the confirmation page on the set date and time.

To ensure efficiency, the embassy also recommended applicants avoid submitting applications during peak hours, anticipating a potential rise in applications during particular periods.

Despite these changes, the embassy said that processing timeframes and fees will remain the same.

To obtain a Chinese visa, applicants must first complete the visa application form, then pay the comprehensive visa processing price, which includes service charges and embassy fees, and finally apply.
