The Keiyo South police department, under the direction of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), is looking into the circumstances surrounding the 500 cartons of government textbooks for junior secondary school that were left behind.
The textbooks were found abandoned on Saturday, January 20, 2024, inside Kaptagat Forest along the Kaptagat Kaptarakwa Marum Road, slated for Nyamira North and Nyamira South.
Preliminary research points to a possible scenario where the culprits took over the car carrying the textbooks.
The hijackers then proceeded to unload the instructional materials at the side of the road before fleeing the car.
