On Friday, President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto attended the 60th anniversary celebration marking the union between mainland Tanzania and the Island of Zanzibar. Formerly known as the Republic of Tanganyika and the People’s Republic of Zanzibar, these regions now stand united as one.

The festivities took place at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Kenyan first family was accompanied by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, as well as Cabinet Secretaries Rebecca Miano (Investments, Trade, and Industry) and Peninnah Malonza (EAC, Arid, and Semi-Arid Lands), alongside other senior officials.
