Seven people have been arrested while in possession of 928 grams of cocaine worth Ksh.3.7 million in various areas of Lamu County.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), investigators raided multiple residences suspected of being illegal drug hubs as part of an intelligence-led operation by Anti-narcotic Unit teams.
"One of the targeted houses belonged to Muuna Omar Bori, where a weighing machine and 5 pellets weighing approximately 85 grams were recovered," said DCI, adding that a clear polythene bag with cocaine weighing approximately 164 grams was also seized.

"At Shamuni Mwalimu Shamuni’s residence, another polythene bag about 354g of the crack was also recovered. Another raid at Fatma Mote Yusuf's house led to the discovery of cocaine, weighing approximately 325 grams."
The raid led to the arrest of seven suspects: Nuura Omar Bori (34), Mote Mwalimu Shamuni (41), Shamuni Mwalimu Shamuni (41), Omar Mohamed Omar (23), Mohamed Abdallah (35), Fami Abdulrahman Mohamed (42), and Fatma Mote Yusuf (40).

The raid resulted in the arrest of seven suspects: Nuura Omar Bori (34), Mote Mwalimu Shamuni (41), Shamuni Mwalimu Shamuni (41), Omar Mohamed Omar (23), Mohamed Abdallah (35), Fami Abdulrahman Mohamed (42), and Fatma Mote Yusuf (40).
They will now be placed in police custody until their arraignment.
The raid comes as national authorities work to reduce the sale, distribution, and use of illicit substances throughout the country.
