Meru County has been making headlines for some time now as MCAs have been relentless in their efforts to impeach the current governor, Kawira Mwangaza.

After a successful visit to Nyanza, the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua visited Meru where he attended a community gathering at the Mikumbene Methodist Church.

Accompanied by several high-ranking government officials and local leaders from Meru, the Deputy President is participating in a church service celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Methodist Church's presence in the region.

Among the leaders present is the embattled Meru Governor, Kawira Mwangaza, who was recently reinstated by the court following a successful impeachment by members of the County Assembly and the Senate. Also in attendance are members of Parliament from the United Democratic Alliance, nominated MP Sabina Chege, and a host of members from the Meru County Assembly.
