A suspected thief in Cheptororiet village, Seretut Ward, Belgut constituency, was electrocuted as he attempted to vandalize an electricity transformer supplying power to the village and its environs.
The residents were left in shock after Villagers found the man's body lying underneath the transformer.
They said the man was a notorious thief who lived near the Seretut trading center, before relocating to the Kapsuser trading center in the neighboring Kapsuser Ward.
"He used to terrorise locals with his other accomplices as they vandalised electricity lines and stole copper wires," one villager said.
Further, the villager revealed that the man was being sought after stealing electricity wires in the neighboring Kapchereren area.

Police officers took the body to Kericho County Referral Hospital mortuary pending investigations.
