Liverpool and Egypt's forward, Mohamed Salah, has urged "world leaders to unite in order to halt the continued loss of innocent lives" in light of the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict.
On Tuesday night, health authorities reported that a crowded hospital in Gaza City was hit by an explosion, resulting in the tragic loss of hundreds of lives.
Salah, 31, said humanitarian aid to Gaza must be allowed “immediately”.
“There has been too much violence, heartbreak and brutality,” he said.
According to Palestinian officials, the explosion at Al-Ahli Arab Hospital was attributed to an Israeli airstrike. However, the Israeli military contends that it resulted from a failed rocket launch by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, an accusation that the militant group has refuted.

In response to a significant attack on Israel by the main Palestinian militant group, Hamas, on October 7th, which claimed the lives of 1,400 people, Israeli warplanes and artillery have been conducting bombardments in Gaza.
More than 3,000 people have been reported killed by strikes on Gaza.
Salah described the scenes from the hospital as “horrifying”.
“The people of Gaza need food, water and medical supplies urgently,” Salah said in a video posted on X.
“All lives are sacred and must be protected. The massacres need to stop. Families are being torn apart.
“I am calling on the world leaders to come together to prevent further slaughter of innocent souls.
“Humanity must prevail.”
The Algerian football federation said on Wednesday it is suspending all football competitions and matches “in solidarity with the Palestinian people”.
Upon a request from the Palestinian FA, the governing body had previously granted approval to host the upcoming football matches of the Palestine national team.
