Sports Kenya has fined Gor Mahia a Kes 1.9 million bill for the damaged property at the Kasarani Stadium last weekend.

Sports Kenya also banned Gor Mahia from using the facility until they settle the fine.

The vandalism occurred last Saturday when the record champions played league debutants Murang’a Seal to a barren draw in the FKF-Premier League fixture at the facility.

A controversial decision that saw Benson Omala’s goal disallowed is said to have fuelled the acts of hooliganism as an irate Gor Mahia fan then stormed onto the pitch, seemingly intent on attacking the referee.

Sports Kenya said 295 seats were damaged, with 12 PWD wooden panels and four electrical panels vandalized.
