Jonathan McKinsitry, Gor Mahia's Irish coach, has approached the club to clarify his future, as his current contract expires in August of this year.
McKinsitry's investigation comes at a critical time for Gor Mahia, which is on track for another league title and looking for more success in continental competitions.
Club chairman Ambrose Rachier, who disclosed McKinsitry's communication, has scheduled a meeting with management to discuss the coach's concerns.
"Our head coach has formally requested clarity on his future with the club, given his contract's impending expiration in August. We will convene an executive session soon to deliberate on this matter," stated Rachier.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding McKinsitry's tenure, Rachier praised his achievements since joining Gor Mahia in July 2022. Under his leadership, the team won the league title last season and is currently vying for their 21st title this season.
Rachier praised McKinsitry's performance, noting the team's impressive record of only two losses out of 27 games this season against Police FC and Bandari FC.
"As we prepare to chart a course forward, it's evident that we are pleased with his contributions thus far," Rachier said.
Meanwhile, Rachier announced plans to strengthen the squad, particularly in goalkeeping, central defense, and striker positions, if Gor Mahia qualify for the CAF Champions League.
This decision follows an observed gap during the recent Mashemeji derby, when goalkeeper Kevin Opiyo was sent off, resulting in Caleb Otieno's debut in goal.
Rachier was also pleased with the large turnout of fans for the Mashemeji Derby at Nyayo Stadium, emphasizing the potential financial benefits of such high attendance.
"The fan turnout was phenomenal. Increased attendance has the potential to solve a variety of financial challenges. "I want to thank everyone who helped make the event a success," Rachier said.
Looking ahead, Gor Mahia will face 11th-placed Murangá Seals on May 4. They need only four wins and a draw from their remaining seven games to secure the championship.
